Boston Harbor Hotel

Boston wedding venue: Boston Harbor Hotel

Venue Location: 70 Rowes Wharf, Boston, MA 02110

Boston Harbor Hotel is one classic and quintessential Boston wedding venue. Probably most recognized for the famous arching rotunda that separates Rowes Wharf and the back of the Boston Harbor Hotel property and the Boston Harbor itself. If you haven't seen the gigantic American Flag that hangs for a lot of the year, well look back above, as it makes for very dramatic wedding photos to have that in the background of your Boston wedding. Wedding venues in Boston have a wide variety of styles and this would fall into the upscale and elegant category. They offer multiple ceremony & reception location options, the largest of which can host up to 250 guests, and all have waterfront views. Located directly across the street from the Rose Kennedy Greenway, you have a lot of variety for your wedding photo locations.

Bostonian Hotel

Boston wedding venue: Bostonian Hotel

Venue location: 26 North St, Boston, MA 02109

The Bostonian Hotel is all about location, location, location. Steps away from Faneuil Hall, the Rose Kennedy Greenway, Christopher Columbus Park and the North End, you really couldn't ask for a better walkable wedding venue in Boston. For your wedding photos, I've photographed weddings where we incorporated all those locations which make for such a beautiful and dynamic collection of photos to tell the story of your wedding.

Boston Museum of Science

Boston wedding venue: Boston Museum of Science

Venue Location: 1 Museum Of Science Driveway, Boston, MA 02114

Nothing cookie-cutter here, the Boston Museum of Science is for wedding couples looking for that unique Boston wedding venue. Multiple options for your Boston wedding and reception location: outdoors in the pavilion, indoors in one of the main exhibit spaces and the ability to host up to 250 guests. One of the big positives is the opportunity for you and your guests to walk around the museum exhibits during closed hours and truly have a unique experience to yourselves. Goes without saying photographic opportunities are abundant at this Boston wedding venue and if you're looking for a bit of nature and variety then the North Point Park right across the street fits the bill for that and is within walking distance.

The Exchange Boston

Boston wedding venue: The Exchange

Venue Location: 212 Northern Ave, Boston, MA 02210

Formerly known at The Exchange Conference Center, The Exchange Boston offers a prime waterfront location in the Seaport District and a perfect alternative to any wedding couple not a fan of hotel ballrooms. Managed and catered exclusively by East Meets West, you know you're in good hands when a company has 25+ years of experience in the wedding industry to drawn on and help make your day exactly what you envision. If you're looking to venture away from The Exchange for photos, you have a cute little park directly across Northern Ave. or slightly farther is the popular Fan Pier Park and the Harborwalk. Both perfect options for a 1st look, wedding party photos or fun and creative portraits with different city views as the backdrop. What I love about The Exchange's main event space is the ability to run up to the 2nd floor for a unique vantage point to different parts of your wedding day. Makes for some truly dramatic wedding day photos!

Fairmont Copley Plaza

Boston wedding venue: Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston

Venue Location: 138 St James Ave, Boston, MA 02116

The Fairmont Copley in Boston has been a Boston staple for luxury and elegance since it's opening in 1912. The Fairmont Copley is an experience in and of itself to simply walk the lobby so hosting your wedding here is something your guests will never forget. The Grand Ballroom alone is 6000+ square feet! It has been the backdrop for many movies, perhaps most famously (at least in the wedding industry) for Bride Wars, staring Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway. They can really accommodate any guest count, for large wedding or micro weddings, and if luxury and historic Boston are what you're looking for you can get better than this Boston wedding venue.

Hampshire House in Boston

Boston wedding venue: Hampshire House in Boston

Venue location: 84 Beacon St, Boston, MA 02108

So many wedding venues in Boston are all about the history of the city, and this mansion in Beacon Hill is no exception. Five stories of classic Boston and old world charm make for a unique backdrop for your wedding day. Conveniently located directly across from the Boston Public Garden, there is no shortage of photo opportunities. Just remember if you are hoping for part of your wedding day photography in the Boston Public Garden I would highly suggest getting the appropriate permit so you don't have any issues. The small fee is worth is so you don't have your wedding party or family in the park for photos and are then asked to leave by a ranger because you don't have the appropriate permit for professional photography. The old world charm and history of this wedding venue in Boston make some of the rooms with a lot of dark wood a challenge for some photographers. Make sure your wedding photographer is well skilled in working in low light situations and using off-camera flash for the best results.

Harvard Club of Boston

Boston wedding venue: Harvard Club of Boston

Venue location: 374 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA 02215

The Harvard Club of Boston has been a private club in Boston for over 110 years and has earned the status of a Platinum Club of America, the only private club in New England to achieve the title. What does that mean for your wedding? Unparalleled service paired with one of the most dramatic ballrooms of any wedding venue in Boston. So pretty good I would say! The Harvard Club of Boston offers space enough for your wedding ceremony and reception, all on site and then if you're interested in more greenery of a little nature in your wedding day photos, the Commonwealth Mall makes for a great backdrop as well. There are so many fun spaces to photograph in, like balconies overlooking Commonwealth Ave. or overlooking the grand ballroom, and I've tried to explore them all over the years to create something creative and different for my wedding clients. Another location where you'll want to make sure the photographer you hire is well skilled photographing in low light situation and using off camera flash as some of the space can be challenging depending on the time of year of your wedding and the weather on the particular day.

Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor

Boston wedding venue: Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor

Venue location: 101 Harborside Dr, Boston, MA 02128

As you're searching wedding venues in Boston you might wonder about hidden gems and what venue has the best view of the Boston skyline. Well, the answer to both is the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor. The 1st time I photographed a wedding at this Boston wedding venue a few years back, I was so impressed. They offer an outdoor ceremony location as well as either a tented waterfront reception or an indoor option in the Skyline Ballroom (both environments you can see above). Add in the ability to charter a water taxi for some impromptu wedding day portraits, it's truly a unique experience for you, your guests, and even your photographer to photograph! The night photo possibilities with Boston as the backdrop are some of my favorites and shouldn't be missed so make sure your photographer can handle working in and creating in this situation.

New England Aquarium

Boston wedding venue: New England Aquarium Boston

Venue location: 1 Central Wharf, Boston, MA 02110

The New England Aquarium Boston is a popular wedding venue in Boston for quite a few reasons and the most important ones are the penguins and harbor seals. If you absolutely need more than that well, it's obviously a unique venue for your Boston wedding but the waterfront location and proximity to the Rose Kennedy Greenway, Long Wharf and Christopher Columbus Park really make the New England Aquarium a popular wedding venue. Another venue where I would highly recommend the photographer you choose be very well versed in working in dark lighting situations. I know the aquarium has very strict rules about using any lighting or flashes near the penguins and many of the other sea life exhibits inside for obvious reasons. These locations are where you'll most likely have your cocktail hour and want some fun and creative portraits inside with the exhibits.

Omni Parker House Boston

Boston wedding venue: Omni Parker House Boston

Venue location: 60 School St, Boston, MA 02108

Overflowing with history, Omni Parker House Boston is the longest continuously operating hotel in the United States. Charles Dickens first recited his 'A Christmas Carol' within those walls and Boston's famous Boston Crème Pie was created. The list of amazing individuals associated Omni Park House Boston would take too long to go through but serious check out Wikipedia to be astonished. As to wedding venues in Boston, the Omni Park House Boston brings historic elegance and modern touches along with it's top floor grand ballroom. Off site you have Boston's Old City Hall along with some pretty cool back alleys for photographic opportunity within walking distance.

Charlestown Navy Yard

Boston wedding venue: Charlestown Navy Yard, Pier 4 Courageous Sailing

Venue location: Navy Yard, Pier Four Blvd, Boston, MA 02129

You might not consider the Charlestown Navy Yard or Pier 4 Courageous Sailing as a wedding venue in Boston but don't be fooled, it's actually quite great. See the 1st photo above for the absolute highlight, capturing a dramatic portrait at sunset with the Zakim Bridge in the background. On a perfect day you can have the waterfront ceremony on the pier looking south towards the North End and downtown with the tented reception capable of hosting a huge guest count. The Charlestown Navy Yard park makes for great wedding day family photos and with your wedding party and of course Charlestown has a lot of creative photo opportunities if you are willing to adventure a little farther from the reception site.

Venue location: 1 Seaport Ln, Boston, MA 02210

The Seaport Hotel in Boston is simply a well oiled machine when it comes to wedding venues in Boston. They have the ability to host I believe 3 weddings on the same day and because the property is so massive you would never know it. Communication and planning are so professional two wedding couples will never run into each other so each client can feel like they are being completely catered to.
